These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of QuizCloak (the "Service"), operated by QuizCloak ("we", "our", "us"). By installing the QuizCloak browser extension, creating an account, or otherwise using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
You must be at least 13 years old to use QuizCloak. If you are under 18, you represent that you have permission from a parent or guardian to use the Service. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account.
QuizCloak is a browser extension that modifies how certain browser APIs report tab visibility and focus to websites you visit. The Service runs entirely on your device and does not access, modify, or interact with any third-party accounts, servers, or systems on your behalf. Optional AI-powered features analyze on-screen content within your browser to generate responses to user prompts.
You are solely responsible for how you use QuizCloak. You agree that you will:

QuizCloak is a privacy and productivity tool. You are solely responsible for ensuring your use of the Service complies with the academic integrity policies, honor codes, and rules of any educational institution or platform you interact with. Use of QuizCloak in a manner that violates such policies is at your own risk and is not endorsed, condoned, or encouraged by us. By using the Service, you affirm that you will use it in accordance with all applicable rules and regulations governing your conduct.
QuizCloak offers paid subscription plans. By subscribing, you authorize us and our payment processor (Stripe, Inc.) to charge the payment method you provide on a recurring basis until you cancel. Prices are listed in U.S. dollars and are subject to change with reasonable notice.
You may cancel your subscription at any time through your account page or by contacting support. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period. We do not offer prorated refunds for partial billing periods except at our discretion or where required by law.
If you experience a billing issue or the Service does not function as described, contact us at QuizCloak@gmail.com within 30 days of the charge. Refund requests are evaluated case by case. We may issue refunds in our sole discretion. Chargebacks initiated without first contacting support may result in permanent account termination.
QuizCloak, including all software, designs, text, graphics, and other content, is owned by us and protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Service for your personal, non-commercial use in accordance with these Terms. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or lease any part of the Service.
QuizCloak is an independent product developed and operated independently of any educational institution, learning management system, or software provider. QuizCloak is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or otherwise associated with Instructure, Inc. (Canvas), Anthology Inc. (Blackboard), Moodle Pty Ltd, Google LLC, Respondus Inc., or any other third party mentioned on this site. All product names, logos, trademarks, and screenshots referenced are the property of their respective owners and are used solely for descriptive purposes to identify compatibility.
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT.
We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, undetectable by any specific third party, or effective for any particular use case. Websites, learning management systems, and proctoring tools update their detection methods regularly, and we make no guarantee that QuizCloak will prevent detection in any specific situation. Your use of the Service is at your own risk.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL QUIZCLOAK, ITS OPERATORS, OR ITS AFFILIATES BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, GOODWILL, ACADEMIC STANDING, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.
OUR TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THESE TERMS OR THE SERVICE SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US FOR THE SERVICE IN THE THREE MONTHS PRECEDING THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM.
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless QuizCloak and its operators from and against any and all claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or related to (a) your use of the Service, (b) your violation of these Terms, (c) your violation of any third party's rights, including any institution's academic integrity policy, or (d) any content you submit or transmit through the Service.
We may suspend or terminate your account and access to the Service at any time, with or without notice, for any reason, including violation of these Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the Service will immediately cease. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including intellectual property, disclaimers, limitations of liability, indemnification, and governing law) will survive.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Oregon, without regard to conflict of laws principles. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service shall be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Oregon and you consent to personal jurisdiction there.
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, by providing additional notice (such as by email). Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
